  • If they have counted the Lavers 63 to 68 pro tournaments which were unofficial Grand slams his count would be some where around 22 to 25 so he is absolutely way ahead of RAFA n Roger >> But Roger played in decent competative envoirnment and RAFA playing EXtreame envoirnment and it wont be any easy in coming day to win a grand slam >> God look at the guys u have to deal in 2nd and 3rd round one bad day ur gone :)))

  • Roger is the GOAT, hands down.

  • Age difference doesn't matter because Rafa won't play at a high level when he's 28-30. Roger is clearly the greatest ever and anybody who says Nadal is doesn't really understand tennis.

  • @goindiago123 And we all know that no one, not even Laver, wins that many Slams in a row. But lets say he did, in a week Roger will have 17 Slams too and he would have done it in an era were the competition is greater due to the money. Roger is the best ever, period.

  • @goindiago123 Wrong. By the same token that Laver was banned to play Grand Slams once he turned proffesional, other players better than Laver in 1962 were banned to play. When Laver won his first GS (1962), he was not the #1 player in the world. So take those 4 Slams out of your counts. Laver was the #1 from 1964-1970. Assuming he would have won all the Slams on the years he was banned, and knowing he did not won any Slams in 1970, the tally would be 17 Slams.

  • The only thing that gives Rafa the edge over Federer are his victories on clay court. Nadal is almost unbeatable on clay. Roger is the only who could beat him TWICE plus ended his 81 games winning streak. Taking away the clay matches is 7-5 for Federer. Rafa is 12-2 on clay.

  • I believe this says it all:

    ATP CONSECUTIVE WEEKS NO. 1

    Roger Federer 237 Weeks

    Jimmy Connors 160 Weeks

    Rafa Nadal 57 Weeks

  • @vuk911 If you think Nadal is greater than Federer, then you have a skewed outlook on things, and that's why I say that if you think Roger isn't greater than Nadal, you don't fully understand all the components than make Roger the GOAT over Rafa. Things like dominance, consistency, shotmaking, longevity....

  • @3timeMVPNash No,it`s not true. That doesn`t have to do anything with understanding of tennis. Everyone knows that Federer is the greatest, the question is if they want to accept that or not.

  • Federer is the best of all time. Nadal's got my respect and he's one of the best players ever, but there can be only one Federer. 286 weeks to be on the top is no piece of cake, let alone 16 majors.

  • @Thealmostguy Federer may still break Nadal's Master Series record. Nadal has 19 and Fed has 18, 2 more and it's done :D

  • @Mohamed518 When Laver began, there was no such thing as a tennis "professional". And only the royals and rich folks were allowed to play the "official" tournaments. There was still an unofficial circuit, from 1963 through to 1968 in which tournaments played are the predecessors of present day Grand Slam Tournaments. Laver won several of those unofficial majors, but since they were unofficial, they don't rest in his trophy cabinet.
