Mario Kart Wii - The Neuromancer Cup (Saturday)

Wow, this was actually short enough to fit into one video. This is the Neuromancer Cup, this weekend's Mario Kart Wii competition hosted by CaseDoc. The Neuromancer Cup is named after the book "Neuromancer," written by William Gibson. You can look it up, or the author, if you want more information. But I chose that name simply because it's the only work of fiction I could think of that stars someone named Case.

Race #1
SNES Ghost Valley 2
I got bumped off the course trying to do the shortcut twice in this place. I'm using the heaviest kart, so I'm not sure how Baby Luigi managed to bump me off. And oddly enough, I still managed to place 4th out of 7.

Race #2
DS Delfino Square
In Mario Kart DS, this was a snaker's paradise. It has a really long and wide straightaway. But that doesn't work quite as well in Mario Kart Wii. It still does, however, but it didn't happen here. I mistimed the POW Block at the end, which brought me down a spot. Oddly, getting a 3rd place here propelled me to 2nd in total points.

Race #3
Wario's Gold Mine
Here, someone activated a Lightning Bolt when I was still invincible, and then I got myself a Golden Mushroom. That's a pretty handy combination. On anther note, TemaShika24 is really shining today, doing nearly flawless race after race--after getting bashed and falling off the track during the second lap, then again during the third, he still manages to get 2nd place. What sort of voodoo is he using?

Race #4
Moonview Highway
This is one of my favorite courses too. A lot of people really hate it. I'm not sure why. In this race, I learned that there's a hazard to the cars that get knocked aside that's not apparent otherwise: It's hard to tell where you have to go to avoid a collision, and I cut a little too close. It wasn't that consequential to the race, but it sure surprised me. Still, TemaShika managed to finish a full 14 seconds ahead of me, even though I placed 2nd.
