@SolucoGuy Bake (Astaire) wants to make sure that Sherry (Rogers) gets a broadway job but when he turns up, they tell him that there's a woman in there who's already got it. Without knowing it's actually Sherry in there, Bake puts bicarbonate of soda in her drink to sabotage her and make her hiccup through the song. Poor Bake was only trying to help but he made things worse! She performs the actual song in the film, without the hiccups, it's probably on youtube somewhere!
