he's not a hack, and DO NOT get me wrong, I'm a big fan of his work, but...
I think his films often lack respect for the characters they are trying to portray... which airs on the side of exploitive. I feel like that's where alot of that emotional impact derives, the exploitive quality of his films, and I'm not sure what the value of that is. What are your thoughts?

@ffreplica515 I'm pretty sure it is, if you see the interviews he did for "Gummo" he overdoes the character a lot more than he does here. I think he knows a lot of people think anyone who could make films like he does must be strung out on drugs, so he sort of emulates that persona. Although I may be looking into it too much, I do know he really gets personal with his characters.

@liquidsnake1979 hes just a creative guy with a good sense of humor not a sick sociopath

When someone uses a visual medium to make something their manipulation of that medium should be evident in the final product. That is what art is, a presence. Korine is one of the few true artists making movies today.

please do release it! i want to see that pretty bad

Harmony is a very talented director who knows exactly what he's doing. His persona is a bit put on. I only know this because I met him about 10 years ago and he was really nice and completely normal.

Where can I get a copy of Trash Humpers?

sometimes i wonder if the way he speaks and behaves publicly is a persona

mr lonely saved my life.... more like it was was fucking gaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
You can never say Korine is a hack, ever. Because his films always have an emotional impact, a real film director hack leaves no impression whatsoever and most of the time spends 20 million dollars doing it.
