I have seen a Ricky Gervais quote saying that having a Christian threaten him with hell is like having a child tell an adult that Santa will not be giving him any presents! LOLOL

You're very narrow minded. The US as a whole is right wing compared to other developed countries. Other countries, in many ways, see us the way we see many countries in the middle east.

There is another good one. Threatening an atheist with hell is like telling someone they will be sent to Monopoly Jail for not playing the game according to your rules.

As it turns out, 159 atheists not only have no songs, but no sense of humor.

That sounds like an attack more so than a logical reason for not believing.

I must call your attention to the fact that your statement is fiction. The Bible does not tell you to separate faith from logic. As a matter of fact, faith involves logic and trust. Just because you can not see something does not mean that it is not logical.

Right up there with The Screwtape Letters I suppose. IT IS ALL QUITE BORING. C.S. Lewis is consistent in his failures of attempting to validate Faith with stories that pretend to be logical or reasonable Even the Bible dictates that "faith is the evidence of things unseen, the substance of things hoped for.". IN other words, MAGIC!

I read it. I still don't believe in fairy tales. Religion is adult thumb-sucking.

I would like to challenge everyone here to do one thing before they make another comment: Read the book, Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. It will change your mind. This is not a conversion attempt but this book does an excellent job of explaining what Christianity really is.

No disrespect meant at Ms. Jefferson, but I will say that the statement "Christianity is filled with lies" is an untrue statement. There is no fallacy in the faith. You may have heard wrong information or interpreted incorrectly, but I can assure you that there are no lies concerning the faith itself. Now, some of those who claim to be Christians could be the ones presenting the lies, and also opponents of Christians. I hope this helps :-).

it's not just the religious people. It's also the "dumb atheists" in the comments also. No offense, but it's not religion or lack of religion that's the issue; the issue is zealotry: a stubborn, unyielding, (and many times rather violent) clinging to particular ideals. THAT is what tears us apart, our unwillingness to understand others and respect their right to believe whatever they want (provided they are not overtly dangerous or disruptive).
