Carolinas Walk Now for Autism Raises over $350,000
More than 4,500 walkers turned out at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C. for the 5th Annual Carolinas Walk Now for Autism, raising over $350,000. Joining the walkers at this year's event were special guests Charlie and Debbie of "The Charlie & Debbie Show", Chris Allen from Tanner in the Morning, members of the TopCats (the Carolina Panthers Cheerleaders), the Team Aruba Drag Racing team, and a number of mascots, including Andy Armadillo (Texas Roadhouse), Chubby Checker (Charlotte Checkers), Homer the Dragon (Charlotte Knights), Seemore Goodstuff (WTVI), and Geoffrey the Giraffe (Toys R Us). A community resource fair including twenty organizations, and kids activities, rounded out the day's festivities.
