Rickiejoleen was a precocious youth when she traded her normal childhood for the chance to become serious about country music. But at such a young age, no musician would take her seriously. That's when she picked up her guitar and said, "If no one wants to help me, I'll learn to play by myself and come up with my own shows."
Rickiejoleen would call bars and restaurants and ask if she could play at their establishment. Most venues wouldn't ask her age, so she could get away with it. At 18, she now teeters daringly between the life of a hometown recording artist and that of Nashville legitimacy.

Rickiejoleen has a refreshing voice that oozes talent, with a slight twang and vibrato to envy. She takes to the stage with confidence, and spunk. Often arching her back with the guitar held high in the air. Try to mesh country, blues and rock, and you'll have an inkling of this young lady's panache.

The artist's style and youth are alluring -- you may be tempted to say she's just a kid, but self-managing her career from takeoff is no easy task. She has been working the local music scene for the past eight years and now has an impressive list of venues she performs at.

"Although I have given up much of my childhood, I wouldn't change a thing," says Rickiejoleen. "I have seen and accomplished more than some people only dream of. It can be tough but it's worth every second."

  • hahah this girl was in my class to bad she showed up half the time i really wanted to hear her sing live

  • why diddnt she win nashville star? shes awesome

  • I'm not saying she isn't a good performer, or that she won't be a star someday. But to any unbiased observer, she was clearly was the worst performer on the first show. She had a lot of trouble. Maybe she'll make it big someday, but right now, she wasn't ready for the big stage.

  • Yea! I wish i could see it but they don't air it up here in Omaha. I only heard from YouTube. I met Rickie in Tempe when i lived there she is a real genuine performer. I shot video of her and Air it here and Los Angelas. Jewel is sweet person too.

  • They toook out my 2 favorite people in the First Episode.... I'm now only watching cuz Jewel is the host lol.. I mean do they want to find someone with talent or not.. I mean she has such a good energy when performing and everything She is the only one i felt a connection with and its a shame

  • They took Rickiejoleen off because they knew the public would keep her on and they couldn't take a chance allowing a girl finding success by not having a regular school life and singing at the bar. Everything is so political. Rickiejoleen is packed with talent!!! and it comes natural!!

  • Such a shame that she was elimanted she was the only one i liked. Much better than that girl that tortuerd the wreckers song
