Dusty forgot to mention that even if it's a true dichotomy, it's retarded to persuade someone to believe in something by threatening them with an aspect of that belief. It' like someone saying, "I have psychokinetic powers the likes of which you can't imagine. I won't ever demonstrate them, but if you don't believe in my powers, I'll kill you with them!"

If you use some obscure personal definition for a subject there's no reason why anyone SHOULD understand. He presents his subject using the ACTUAL definition and then presents his argument. Using the accepted definition for a subject is not a straw man.
