Our grandparents were mostly farmers and ranchers, but now food is produced by less than 3% of the population. This tenuous situation is spreading across the world, from developed countries to the grasslands of Mongolia. The threat to remaining family ranchers in the US and herders of Mongolia has never been more pressing. Can we find a place for the form of livestock production that sustained civilization for thousands of years, or will the pressure of overpopulation and modern production relegate true sustainability to something Out of the Past? • I understand how grazing cattle is the most ecologically sustainable option for meat production. However I think it's sustainable only when the livestock is grazing in the appropriate ecosystems that coevolved with this type of foraging. Obviously, cutting down forest to create pasture (i.e. in the American tropics) is not sustainable.

  • @Uaz31 Uh, WRONG, WHAT THE FUCK IS A KIND?

FUCKING STUPID LYING PIECE OF SHIT CREATIONIST READ A BOOK YOU FUCKING DIP SHIT!

THERE ARE NO KINDS! THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A KIND YOU FUCKING IDIOT YOU MADE THAT UP!

Evolution acts on the SPECIES. Species can display large variation, and indeed this is needed and required for adaptation, without enough individuals to spread genetic information, a species can be considered extinct even before all the individuals of the population die off.

  • @Uaz31 Evolution IS adaptation. Adaptation is one aspect of evolution. Evolution is the reason organisms can adapt. The two words used as such are congruent with one another and could conceivably be interchanged.

  • What a beautiful film.

  • This is soo well done. Thank you so much.
