This was footage taken from the press conference for "Rock & Rolls Main Event" scheduled for Sept 1-4, 1989. The extravaganza was a bust and closed after the 1st day, due to hot weather and low turn out. Included at press conference was Tanya Tucker, William Golden, Susan and Paul Cowsill, members of the Tokens, Quicksilver and Strawberry Alarm Clock.
Could part of the reason for the low turn out, aside from the reasons stated, are simply new generation, such as the 20 and under, just would not have heard, probably, any of these groups of the mid to late 60s. I, myself, was 20 years old in 1989 and had only heard 'The rain, the park and other things' as a kid in the mid 70s and it never occurred to me to check out the history of this band and many others. My peers are oblivious.

Hi Julian,
This was not the concert you are talking about. This was the year before, in 1989, close to San Bernadino. The Ventura beach concert was in 1990. Anyway - in both concerts Eric Burdon and Robbie Krieger performed together.

Very interesting! What exactly was the "Rock & Rolls Main Event"? An exhibition? A concert?
