Act 2 - dinnertime - and Ellard has been teaching Charlie how to speak English. Charlie is surprisingly quick to pick it up, as he's only pretending to be foreign. His friend Staff Sergeant "Froggy" LeSueur arrives to try to rescue him, but finds that the formerly morose Betty is cheered by his company, and the normally shy Charlie has been brightening lives left and right - and, in fact, gaining a personality. This sets up the "Charlie storytime."
From the L'arc en Ciel Theatre Group (LCTG) production of "The Foreigner" by Larry Shue - Cedar Lake, IN, May-June 2006. Winner of Best Play of the Year from the Northwest Indiana Excellence in Theatre Foundation.
