German bank are major lenders in Greece, and their exposure is now at 43 billion euros. That's according to the Bank for International Settlements data for the third quarter of 2009. If you combine this with exposure in Portugal, Ireland and Spain, Germany is carrying billions in debt on their books. Mabel Gundlach
well, the tolerant progressive/scocialist wealth re-distribution rhetoric is what is prolonging Europe's 3rd world underbelly(Portugal,Italy,Greece and Spain)suffering by not forcing them to stop over spending on scocial handouts!hey look,we have our troubles here in the U.S.A. with spending money we don't have but Greece has no way in hell of ever paying their debts and this will only fuel animosity between the HAVES's(GERMANY)and the HAVE NOT's(GREECE). they will only learn to hate owing you!

The yellow press that encourages ultra nationalistic rhetoric and negative stereotypes but deutschewelle is far more level headed. It points out the need for economic reform in weaker nations (like Greece) without sooping to demonization of fellow Europeans. This is the face of Germany I love. Progressive, tolerant and competent.
