ive got a 96' continental with the 32valve intech v8...all i know is that this mother humper FLIES!!! i was told the motor is basically a cobra motor slightly detuned, is this true? i would believe it.

The motor in your continental is different then the Town cars. Town cars have 16 valve V8 while the continental has a 32 valve V8. You are right about the cobra engine but both the Continental and the Cobra stole the engine from the Lincoln Mark VIII.

Done the research. No comparison betweent the two engines. The facts are facts. NOT OPINIONS. Don't be mad becuase you're stuck with your engine. You know you wish you had a Northstar. Show me a video where a stock TownCar beats a stock Deville 0 to 60 mph or any other areas that the two compete.

this is very amusing...lol...all I said was the northstar unreliable and does not have any aftermarket for the engine. Yes, stock vs stock the Northstar performs better but it wouldn't take much to for the Town Car to leave the deville in the dust.

Hell there is even a vid here of crown vic beating a seville.

I am glad I don't have that POS engine with all the HG problems you have to worry about even before it hits 100K

No difference from a tuned civic beating a camaro. at the end of the day, a big 2.5 ton rolling living room beat a Lexus sport coupe. the stock Towncar and other Ford big cars are actually quicker than most people realize.

As a Crown Vic owner I can vouch for the power in these cars. They WILL put you back in the seat if you give it to em. And they do it VERY smoothly.

I also get 22 mpg average combined city/highway with the A/C on 90% of the time!

These cars are MUCH better than people think they are!

@tilley0  How does it feel to pay $1,000.00 for a water-cooled altenator for that Northstar. Fuck the Northstar. It is an over-engineered, pricey motor, that will not go beyond 200,000 miles.

@tilley0 its 16 valve and my car has not one time smoked or have i had to add oil from one oil change to the next....my 4r70w is acting up but i think its the torque converter...the 4.6 4valve dohc cobra engine would kill a north star....the panther platform comes with the 4.6 2v sohc 281 cid....the marauder has a 4.6 4v dohc 281 cid....

@tilley0 lol buddy u cant even compare reliability of a TownCar to a deville, I own a 98 Towncar with over 200x miles on it, doesnt burn a drop of oil, or leak it...Where as my buddy had a 98 Caddy STS, which he had to top off the oil in every week...at only 127x miles. Junk.

@tilley0 Norhtstar engine will not last longer then the 4.6 ford engine, yea, a northstar will beat it, but wont last long and they have more problem the the ford engine.
