When i first loaded the video after uploading it the quality was very poor but that was because it was showing in 240p just chnage to 480p or 720p and the video will be fine :)

In this tutorial i explain the basic of maya camera controls and creating a custom shelf things like this for people starting off in maya i also show a few shortcuts.

Shotcuts to remember:

Camera Shortcuts:
Alt+left mouse button = Rotate
Alt+middle mouse button = Pan
mouse wheel = zoom in and out

Transform shortcuts
w = Move
e = Rotate
r = Scale

g = Repeat last tool
ctrl+d = Duplicate
ctrl+z = undo
shift+z = redo

I made this tutorial for a friend who wants to start out in Maya but nows almost nothign about using it hopefully this video helps him a little and others that watch it.

  • that cough is the most annoying thing i've ever heard

  • *ugh cough* uh hem*

  • nvm.. Found It.

  • I don't have a Mesh menu.

  • If you want to zoom into a particular point use ctrl +alt then hold left mouse button and drag out a "square" over the point. hope this helps :)

  • @NEKOBLADE But fun.

  • @NEKOBLADE OKAY i have the solution for my MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON PROBLEM and i think for other ppl too. It was luck to find it, but its great and simple. Only disable the ScrollWheel. Because you can do it with ALT + LEFT MOUSE BUTTON.

    HOW TO DO IT:: click with LEFT MOUSEBOTTON into the CUBE in the LEFT Corner, then opens a menu. In the Menu, go to INTEREFACE then you see DEVICES and there is

    MOUSE SCROLL WHEEL [ ] ENABLE. Disable it and every mouse should work fine in futur :-)

  • @Banchuba I am using just a generic USB mouse my main mouse broke recently so i am using a temp mouse until i can get a new one :)
