The Unthinkable Heinz Commercial

A family project done with a rather old digital camera that does not record sound and the standard Windows Movie Maker that came with the computer. A note about the actors...the first star in the commercial is J.C. and he is autistic. I wish I could have included more footage (30 seconds is hard to fit a commercial into!) of J.C. (I may just post is separate with my regular videos). He did a great job and made some hilarious faces! BTW - J.C. LOVES Heinz ketchup! Next is S.C. - he's almost 4 and was a bit resistent to the whole movie star thing. Ten tapings later (haha) we got the very short footage that we used. The big girl, we'll call her R.N. (no, she's not a nurse though she does volunteer work at a local hospital)and boy is she a drama queen!!! hahaha Ok. And then there's the baby E.R.S. (sometimes called Choo Choo). She is a star, a ham, a natural - and, well, only 1 year old - so, it took a few takes to get her part in. It was all fun and we are really excited! Good luck to all, but, hope we win!!! Did we type that out loud???

Possibly rendering, but check your audio levels. The music sounded overloaded in places (and distorts). Otherwise, very nice.

Thanks. This is only the second time I've used Windows Movie Maker - so, I don't even know how to adjust the sound (I just uploaded it). I'll look and see if I can figure it out! Thanks again for the feedback!

I looked at it and for some reason the title overlays are in the audio area. I don't know how to fix this - but, it does explain the audio level fluxes!

this is cute.... next time you may want to just run the audio all the way through. It doesn't really look right with it chopped up.. anyways, good luck in the competition!!!

I'm on an Apple, so can't be sure of how to help. In my case, there's always a blank area either above the video tracks, or below the audio tracks in the timeline. Left click in either of those spaces and you get an "Add Track" option. From there's it's highlight and drag & drop.

It's really subjective, but generally mixing digital audio for broadcast: Speech/Singing levels -6db, Music levels -10/20db.
