He was my tutor at Stirling University nearly 40 years ago.

Just bought a huge edition of his work, put together by Ewan and bought in Blackwells/Edinburgh, I hear of Norman being a one of the great Scottish poets, never mind Scotland, I have him as one of the greatest ever. He like to tell the odd porkie or two though, like he never read any books? lol yeah right

Hi Fatpara- yes Its a great poem. One of the many 'Aces' in his poems about Assynt. Have you read the new selected MacCaig poems by Roderick Watson 'The Many Days. A collection of gems.
