Eleanor Powell and Fred Astaire to the Contours 1966 Twisted Wheel classic.

It's a cold man to hurt his woman
And watch her walk away crying
When all along, he knows he's wrong
To be so hard on a woman that's trying

I was so unkind to hurt you so
Going out of my mind
I just gotta let you know..

Baby, I can't let you go
I realize I hurt you so
Our love, surely can be mended
It's just a little misunderstanding

I remember you said
You would always care
Until death should we be apart.
Then it surely must be .. my destiny
To die the death of a broken heart

So before I become, a wandering rover
Let's get together
Talk this thing over.

Baby, I can't let you go
I realize I hurt you so
Our love, surely can be mended
It's just a little misunderstanding. That's all it is.

We've been loving so long ..
that it just seems wrong.
that our love could never be
Be anywhere .. baby, I wouldn't care
If I thought that you needed me.

All the chains in the world
Cant hold me .. cant hold me
Like a robot your love controls me ..
Baby .....

  • Luv it !!

  • The Keyhole club Leeds and Normanton baths dance.Brill!!!!

  • what an awesome video and sound I loved this record still do actually

  • Simon Cowell and his band of X factor wankers. This is called music. Something you people would not recognise, if it came up and bit you on the arse.

  • Fred Astaire doing his own unique version of the 'Footsee' to this awesome slice of Detroit Soul. 45 years on I salute the miracle that was the Motown sound.

  • guaranteed to get people up and dancing...even the 'not converted'. was a massive youth club song for me...era 1970

  • fab song and quality video , nice one

  • oh and by the way yes I did have a scooter, Vespa 180 SS.

And I recommend you listen to The Dells, Run For Cover.

  • Yep and I was one of the those Northern Soul lads, except I was dancing in the 70s, Crew, Cardiff, Birmingham, Wigan, and a little known youth club in Aldridge. OHHH the memories.

  • This track is ageless. 1966 it came out a lots of mods, rude boys (later skinheads) and northern soul boys (UK) would have danced their socks off to The Contours at The Torch Stoke, Wigan Casino, Twisted Wheel Manchester and Leeds Central ....... to name but of few clubs. White working class kids were buying and playing this stuff - Motown, Stax, Atlantic etc. - years before US Radio stations were playing it to mainstream listeners & audiences. We were so cool then and still are now.
