  • And so...

I take out my dreamcast out of where I kept it..

And started to play this game on a non-hd nor even a wide screen TV, I consider myself very lucky.

  • And this is just one of the amazingly high pile of amazing musics in the game. SHENMUE FOR LIFE !!!!!!!!

  • you can never go wrong with Shenmue.

It's a shame the windows CE environment wasn't exploited more then, I only recall seeing a handfull of games that mentioned it. However the dreamcast was a dream to develop for in comparison with the PS2. And the fact it was similar in build to the Naomi arcard board ment true to the orginal ports were relatively easily accomplished.

  • @mark1282 Early builds did not have a "refined" windows CE integrated onto the Dreamcast's OS. Although a quarter way through its life it did support Microsoft Visual Studios and C++. It wasn't the fact the Dreamcast couldn't support it in hardware terms, in fact the Dreamcast was better than arcade systems up until 2008. It's just that it took more effort to integrate more complex graphics in games. But later builds supported a whole suite of tools for producers.

  • @viperxeon

Why was the dreamcast difficult to work with?

  • Except voice acting. I love the Shenmue games, but even I have to admit the English voices are atrocious most of the time.

  • The graphics weren't that bad. For the time anyway, the Dreamcast was a difficult system to work with in a game producer scene.

  • am i the only one who thinks the graphics on the dreamcast was the shit? :) crazy insanely nice
