I Love my Tilley hat... Have to admitt though, a little far fetched. I can see it now...
Stood next to a mate, a 7 ft ape of a man weilding a cricket bat, and striding towards me, grunting threateningly. Mate says ''Run man! That guys fuckin' huge, n' he's got a fuckin' bat!'' ''Under control... I'm armed.'' ''With what?'' At this I cooly gesture to the hat atop my head, and wink. ''Ohhh, ok then, I forgot about the hat. You'll fuck him up real good''

traditional forms of kung fu show how farmers defended themselves, they did't have conventional weapons with them so they had to turn unusual things like farming tools into weapons (I have seen a traditional form that uses a little bench)
