Further, 'traditional' witchcraft, w/o the 'capped' W, is a CRAFT. A way of life. We look on Nature as a part of us, not 'apart' from us. We see 'God' in everything, not as the Creator of everything. Monotheistic religions place so much emphasis on the Divine being outside of us, "in His image", yet untouchable, intangible. Poly/Pantheistic faiths believe that every breath of air, every leaf of a tree, every drop of water in the ocean, every spec of soil, IS Divine...

  • oops sorry pentacle has a base meaning anythin with five points

  • im sure that Pentacle is 16th century french word meaning five lines and is the five pointed star, pentagram comes from the greek and means five lines, it is a five pointed star within a circle, not the other way around

  • LOL tabby cat

  • To the Christians posting here. Spoilers: Christianity used the pentagram for a symbol of the five wounds of Christ and of mankind. There are still churches that remain with pentagrams over the altars and the doorways. Early church fathers were against using a cross because death wasn't the central focus and because it was a pagan symbol from a lot of local religions. Even Bacchus has representations of being crucified.

well IM a kid and that what I belive.

  • to those who do not understand... we are not living in the dark ages. all of the persecution against other religions was origined from fear. if your faith is so great, what do YOU have to fear? the same people who wrote that other religions must be of satan, would also say the same thing about the automobile you drive, or the television you watch! when you condemn others, you are showing that mankind has not advanced in over 2000 years. If you do not learn from the past, you surely repeat it!

  • @xperfectioncyd We wiccans don't actually believe in "the devil", or anything like that, and the pentacle is not satanic in any way. It's merely been misrepresented, thanks to ignorant people, and Hollywood.
