I'm still waiting for someone to give me a good answer how it helps an economy for the government to pay people NOT to work for the last $4500 toward their new ride.Economies are built from people serving their fellow man. C4C pays them to NOT serve and punishes tax payers for serving/earning the money. If you can afford a car payment, you can afford to wait and save for your new car without stealing money from taxpayers. You will be helping the economy as you work for that money.

I don't think the newscaster believed him a bit more than I did, they just put on the news in Ohio, that if you singed a certain paper, sorry forgot which paper, but if you signed this paper, that you had to pay the car dealer the rest of the money for the car, but if you didn't sign the paper then the car is lawfully yours, and it is the dealers loss, so read every paper before you sign it!, please, keep the car that they give you LAWFULLY!, and don't sign the paper.

Funny thing about all this all it takes to make an old car or any car fuel efficient is old fashion
simple MAINTENANCE.

New tires, tune up, air filter and little odds and ends. In the long run it'll be cheaper than say, the remaining $15,000+ the CFC rebate DIDN'T pay.

But I don't want to trade in my fully loaded well maintained 'clunker' for a new POS econobox that won't last five years!

How the F*CK is this to help *everyone*?!! What about used car lots? Salvage yards? Salvation army and other businesses who rely on auctions of used cars to help the needy and homeless?

It would help everyone if they did NOT destroy the perfectly good running cars. Anything else they can send to the Pick-a-part yards and THEN crush them. This way everyone wins but noooo

The salvage yards would like to see this program end. They failed to mention the dealer needs to blow the engine before it is crushed.

I can't help but wonder if there will be another bailout program later for the people that bought cars they couldn't afford.

This is payed with money the government doesn't have.
They borrow it from the FED.
You, your children and your children's children will pay it back.
Triple.

It's all about spending more than you did before.
If you don't borrow money, the government does it for you.
