Back when I worked at GNC a lady came in and had shiny hands. Eventually she told me that she used Crisco... butter flavored. Coconut Oil helps with metabolism, heart disease, and thyroid function and is higher in the medium chain fatty acids which do not raise the bad cholesterol levels. It can also take higher cooking temps which make olive oil rancid. I would feel ill when using olive oil to bake or fry.
It is better absorbed by my hair and skin than olive oil. So I save my olive oil as a dressing base.
