It's 'cause of Hitler we associate those colours, doesn't it? Because before that, the colours were reversed.

I'm a girl and I HATE pink and I LOVE blue, it's such a pretty color. When I was a little kid though, I always called red, pink, and purple "girl colors", and yellow, green, and blue "boy colors". I don't think that anymore.

okay guys first of all there was an experiment done and it was a room painted half blue and half pink and a group of young children boys and girls were experimented and boys went to the blue and girls went to the pink. interesting?

An actual reason is because pink is psychologically a more calming and nurturing colour.... Mental hospitals have pink colour schemes in order to help subdue the patients. It's like playing upbeat pop music in McDonald's so that people scarf their food down at a faster rate and buy more. Since pink is calm = not an action driven colour = female. Blue is calming as well, but it's more of a depressant than a subduing, or adrenaline-suppressing colour.

Great video! You should look up on youtube "Consuming Kids: The Commercialization of Childhood". Its about the effects of consumerism on children (which you did mention in your video). I spent my Friday night a few weeks ago watching it haha! Also another good video to watch is "Killing Us Softly 4 (2010)" is about the effects of advertising on femininity. There is two parts to that video so make sure you watch both!
