  • at about 5:20 tortelier hears a funny note in the piano and makes the most comic face hehe

  • that was wonderful, he's a wonderful teacher but if i were the student, i'd be a bit disappointed that i couldnt play that end. because i'd have really loved the end the most, and would have wanted to play it to tortelier.

  • The pianist played a wrong note indeed. The face was priceless. But what beautiful playing

  • @munkybrain That's an agry face... it seems pianist played a wrong

    note.

  • Charming...and quite touchingly played by the young cellist in the beginning.

  • Does he looks like young Matt Damon?

  • Starting at 3:55 it is important for all cellists to note here when you see from this great camera angle that Tortelier's thumb behind the neck of the cello is very loose. He is not gripping the cello tightly at all, but letting the weight from his arm do the work. Overusing the thumb is the great danger many cellists face and the pain can be unbearable. Also note how he keeps the thumb behind his second (middle) finger at all times. What a great example that is right there for all to see.

  • 5:20 that was kinda funni lmao

  • 5.19....so funny when the pianist plays the wrong chord look at Tortelier's face! He's not impressed....!

  • When the student plays it is beautiful, but I have to admit...when Tortelier starts playing at the end I feel like I can see the face of God

  • @vlnpiggy

    I completely agree!!!

  • sweet, so sweet a teacher he had always been. R.I.P. Mr Tortelier, you gave a lot the music world, you will always be remembered!
