The coupe in this video belonged to Beyond Redline who has been using it for R&D purposes. This particular car has already been pushed way beyond where it was stock. It is fortunate that we have companies like this taking the risk out of modifying by experiencing this kind of sad setback and then working out the kinks.
Regardless, this was far from stock and has nothing to do with Hyundai's quality or safety.

i guess it's the same reason not to buy a Ferrari's or Lamborghinis. They burn the same way.
and, as everyone has already said, this one has had its engine boosted to 2.5x stock horsepower. yeah, shit happens.
