Amazon Kindle: http://www.myamazonkindle.net is the best and most convenient e reading device out there. But you should never use it while driving, while on a stair case, or when crossing and walking on the road!
This video is a good example of HOW and WHEN NOT TO USE the Kindle. A TriMet bus driver was caught on video reading a Kindle while driving a bus full of passengers during rush hour along a part of I-5 located in Oregon. A concerned passenger filmed this driver openly reading sort of book and driving the bus with his elbows on the Bristol Road South outward bound of the City. He didn't even put the book down when he came to bus stops. Take a look.
This video shows the bus driver looking up and down at the device while he drove. At one point, he used only an elbow to steer the bus for a few seconds, while looking down at the Kindle. He seldom had both hands on the wheel.
The poor and rather dangerous driver was immediately pulled off of his route after TriMet received several complaints. He was placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation. He has been with TriMet since July 2000, but a TriMet reprisentative called the incident - totally unacceptable. The same message - totally unacceptable - should go to all of us who own a Kindle and other mobile devices. Live long and prosper!
Stop bothering bus drivers, their human beings too
