@PlasticSheeps Yeah Im gunna have to start riding my bike 8 miles to get to the nearest bus stop in my area. Iv rode the bus for years n saddly to say I had to youtube on how to use the bike racks lol xD.

Seriously people, riding your bike to a bus stop isn't "unfit" or ridiculous! Some people have to travel far just to get to a bus stop (depending on where you are) and need to get to where they are going on time and quick! So a bike just makes things faster!

Contrary to what is written, most of the people who use the bike racks are 20 and 30somethings for whom bikes are accessories, like plastic bracelets for public causes, and hats. Older people tend to consider bikes as transportation and ride around the hills or push the bikes over them. Statistics used by the electric bike industry show the same thing: Young people are too lazy to ride, they like the idea of arriving on a bike, but not the effort required to actually go the distance.

@ubpsanity LOL! That's silly! Public transit is meant to encourage more riders and fewer automobiles on the road. Plus, it's a big help to cyclists who are not able to ride long distances and uphill for whatever reason. I'm so glad they provide racks. Just wish BART didn't have block out times for bikes. Makes it kind of difficult.

@mikokat Agreed about the steep hills. I wish BART would open up a couple cars for bikes during the block out times. Wouldn't that be nice!
