another pretty song performed by pentangle. Jansch and Mcshee singing together is just perfect...

Red Wine And Smokes On The Amp. Says it All, Living & Playing Right. When Danny Had Most Of His Hair. I particularly dig John's Guitar tone, not to mention his alap like solo, Sarod sounding, tinny & bluesy and not like the piezeo duds of today. Jacqui is quietly radiant. But! Lose The whiskers Bert! ...........from North Florida 93

Dunno how Jansch ever meshed with Renbourn, but then, he is so solid, nothing seems to phase him. John's best period was "The Hermit", and his own self titled album "The John Renbourn Group. -- Jansch seems at ease playing with anyone he gets the opportunity to play with.

Bizarre that there are conflicting comments on John's solo. His right hand looks correct and his left is economical as usual. If it's intentional then it's a strange and brave solo. If it isn't and he's lamped then I think I hate it!

Isn't it basically the same solo as on the recorded version?

This timeless English ballad with its lovely meter, rhyme, and harmony is embellished by the addition of Renbourne's bluesy solo.
