The ultimate highlights of the 2012 season opener at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA. Included a world finals caliber lineup and an awesome course. The track ate up many competitors in both racing and freestyle. Grinder had a nasty rollover in qualifying that ripped the front end out of the truck, Lupe said he would be back for freestyle but he was unable to make it back. Jeremy Slifko had problems of his own being eliminated early and being unable to compete in freestyle due to electrical issues. Linsey Weenk in Lucas Oil Crusader had his own share of problems being unable to race at all in racing and taking a hard hit shutting the truck off in freestyle. Alex Blackwell performed pretty decent in racing but blew out his transmission in his donuts for diabetes pass, and when he came back for freestyle his truck sounded to be only 50% well. Damon Bradshaw also had engine troubles as he was unable to put in a full run and follow up his 2010 Philadelphia performance. With a bunch of trucks down, it was hard to get a good show still, but the remaining trucks did what they could to try and give a good show. Jim Koehler in Avenger had a blistering run in his first freestyle since his win in Las Vegas, although rolling over early he proved why he was the reigning champion. Adam Anderson also had a fanatastic run with a lot of momentum and big jumps and destroyed the motorhome making sure no one else would get to it. Chris Bergeron and CVH also had respectable freestyles both having a few nice jumps and wheelies put the crowd on their feet. Charlie Pauken in Grave Digger 20 came next and man did he have a run. He had some big time air, great momentum a few nice wheelies, great crossthreads and awesome combos. He also pulled off an awesome wheelie all the way across the track hitting the car halfpipe and landing back on all four wheels for one of the best saves Philly monster jam has ever seen. Charlie Pauken got the lead and probably qualified for stadium freestyle of the year. Tom Meents in Maximum Destruction was next and he came out big trying to knock Pauken out of the hotseat which would be very difficult. He definitely showed early he had a possibility of doing so as he came out with a lot of speed, great momentum and big combos. He got himself into a bit of a hole though once he landed in front of a wall, rather than backing up and losing momentum he backed up full speed landed it on the tailgate and hammered the throttle, doing a pirouette in the air he twirled and spun before landing on the ground with the RPMs going through the roof, showing Philly what he was made of in the biggest crash of the night and probably the year. Although Tom didn't win he may win the wow factor of the year and crash madness award for the flip and probably be on the Crash Madness 7 cover. All in all Monster Jam in Lincoln Financial Field 2011 was a good night, it was not as good as the 2010 show but Tom and Pauken made the night worthwhile in both racing and freestyle. Your winners were Adam Anderson in Grave Digger: The Legend for racing and Charlie Pauken in Grave Digger for freestyle.
The 12 truck lineup was:
Jeremy Slifko in Backdraft

  • great camera work! that save by grave digger was crazy! and if tom would have pulled that crazy save off in the end, that would have been amazing

  • @LAFRANCHISE88 Thanks . And yeah i thought he was actually gonna save it at the end at first but he had too much speed and his foot was on the throttle. No way he was saving that and was going to keep on going.

  • what editing do you use

  • @125miley just iMovie

  • I'm a little upset you cut the part short where Digger runs over the RC Car and the crowd goes wild lol but other than that great vid. It was an awesome show.

  • @ronp407 i was actually told of that after i made this. I didn't realize why the crowd was cheering before someone pointed that out to me.

  • who votes wolfey

  • Great video, but I'd much rather listen to the music of the engines without the crap ass mall metal.

  • @arw543yahoo You don't get the way Tom is do you? Just askin'

  • Even if tom would have pulled it out he wouldnt have been able to keep going. He broke a for link bar, the hydraulic steering hose and bent a wheel.

  • @TheMonsterjamfan4018 too frickin bad lol.

  • @monsterjamkid02 well then make another comment. dont put it on the reply to me :P
