Sting - "Children's Crusade" new cover (Giulio Carmassi)

All instruments and vocals by Giulio Carmassi.
Filmed and recorded in Brooklyn NY.
All footage of the actual takes ended up in the recording.
I know, i know, Sting is the last singer any one should try covering. but i'm not a singer, nor i'm in a rock band trying to make success. It's just fun music to play, it's a challenge, and even if only a few people have a good time watching it. then it was worth the sweat.
Haters are welcome, i can't wait to hear that that bass note on bar 44 is actually supposed to be an eight of a note later, and that i should really try a 2 and not a 2 1/2 reed on the soprano sax.
Recorded in 2 nights, between 1 am and 6 am, because it was the only time it was dark outside enough for lighting i had in mind, and the rehearsal space was quiet enough to record.

PS no autotune, fog or laser weapons, as frank zappa would say. the vocal mic is a peluso 251. the bass a 137 dollars aria jazz bass copy, from the 70's. and the cymbals are mostly paiste signature. oh and the piano is the Ivory steinway D.

Really great video! You've really got some incredible stuff on here. Gear question for you - how do you like the Peluso 251 compared to the P67 I've seen in some of your newer videos? Both are mics that have made it onto my somewhat short list. For my own music I record everything myself as well, though I'm more often recording bands now. I'd be curious to hear about what applications you like the 251 vs the P67 on. Your thoughts on it on vocals particularly, if you wouldn't mind, but anything!
