The beautiful 'Prelude and Fugue in F Major" from the collection of 'Eight Short Preludes and Fugues' originally attributed to J.S. Bach is here performed on the three-manual 84-stop Allen 632-D Organ in my home.

Note: Traditionally, the collection of 'Eight Short Preludes and Fugues' has been attributed to J.S. Bach. Today, however, many believe that these compositions were actually written by one of Bach's pupils, Johann Tobias Krebs (1716-1782).

  • I totally bombed trying to place this piece last Sunday. It's deceptively difficult, especially to my novice ability (that, and I forgot to put on my organ shoes before playing). I didn't even attempt the fugue. You made those 16th-note pedal runs look like child's play! Unbelievable. My hat is off to you, kappellmeister.

  • @6thstreetradio Thank you very much for your kind comment! I agree that these Short Preludes and Fugues are "deceptively difficult." They are harder to play than one would expect by looking at the sheet music...

    Thanks again!

  • one of my faves, well played

  • @joe22twentytoo Thanks for your comment! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed my rendition.

  • Whatever there is of Bach is amazing - just bring it on!

  • @muisire Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm humbled to hear that you really enjoy my interpretations of Bach's music. I hope to upload some more Bach in the coming days and weeks.

  • @GrandeBombarde16 I agree, much of Bach's work requires more technical ability than a glance at the score would imply to you. I've found it particularly difficult as I have been 10 years away from regular practice on piano and organ and my technical ability has really suffered for it. Time to pull out the Hanon exercises!

  • one of my faves, well played

  • The more you upload Bach the more I will be lifted up - he is one of the greats of all human time.

Thank you for presenting some of his greatness.

  • @silverstartrucker Thanks very much for your comment. I'm glad that you again enjoyed the "swinging" rhythms in Bach's music.
