Well, I'll tell you a summary without spoilers.

Haruhi Suzumiya is a girl fascinated with aliens, time travelers, and espers. Little does she know that she's surrounded by them. Kyon (the main character) is later told that Haruhi Suzumiya is a GOD, and that whatever she wants, goes. So really the show is about how they're trying to please her and keep her happy...
