This video shows how chiropractic adjustments are performed by Dr. Stephen R. Gunter, DC. It is an actual office visit and was posted to promote dialogue. For those who are interested in studying this field, this is a great video to observe. If there are questions, Dr. Gunter will check in to answer.

Frequently asked question:

"What was that clicky thing he was pushing on him? He does it at 4:26"

Answer by Dr. Gunter (BackCarePlus)

"This is clearly the most common question I get. That is an adjusting instrument called an Activator. It is spring loaded for rapid delivery of a force to move one vertebra at a time and has some advantages (and disadvantages, too) compared to traditional manual techniques. This treatment sequence shows several distinct methods of correction, and I commonly combine them in the manner shown, although there are times that one single method may be more desirable on a given treatment session."

  • Thank-you Doc,greatly appreciated.

  • @winterwinds2 It is certainly beneficial to move the sacrum in it's own physiologic way, as in walking and swimming; from the outside, a qualified "maybe" since it depends on what's going on (i.e., is there a diagnosis, what is it, why pump the sacrum, how is it being done, etc., all bear on the answer). Massage often is complimentary to chiropractic, but is not usually necessary. Some postulate a right-handed world, others point to the double helix of DNA. Gas pedal on the right?

  • I wish Dr. Stephen Gunter was my next door neighbor...lol

  • Is it beneficial to pump the sacrum, does massage compliment chiropractic work, and why does a person get rotated to much on 1 side or the other.Thanks.

  • @Flyersboy889 I havent watched that part yet but if its the thing im thikning of, im pretty sure it pushes tiny tendons into place, also teaches teh body to get reactions back, strange thing, all to do with the brain

  • do chiropractors have chiropractors?

  • @fusetheband O, hardly. But if you look closely, you will see that it does look as if I am expanding his range of motion. You might give it a try; flexible body, flexible mind...
