WONG:
[Youngyut Tiyapairat, Thai House Speaker]:
"Samak Sundaravej is elected Prime Minister."

Thailand's parliament has elected a new prime minister today. 72 year-old Samak Sundaravej headed the People Power Party in last December's elections. His win was no surprise to many. This comes as the country
returns to a representative, civilian government after over 15 months of army
rule.

He is leading a six party coalition and won approval from 310 of the
480 members of parliament. His appointment will be formalized only after it is
endorsed by the Thai king in the coming days.

  • Representative civilian government? Lol!

Yeah, representatives of big business, bankers, and the elite. What a joke government is. How come as kids politics seems so stupid and obviously dishonest but as adults we buy into it?
