  • Very strong! How good were you feeling in the Euro's (like future things to work on)?

    Excellent job grabbing gold.

  • Thanks.

My lifts felt good but not maximum. Theoretically there were a few kilo's in reserve but it is always difficult to make these on big meets like this.

    Future things to work on?

At my age, trying to keep my level is a big goal haha

  • By the way , i only do one heavy lift a month.

Trust me i know all of the stories of pulls and Bulgarians.

It is even weaker argument to compare with times that have gone.

Ivan Ivanov was also cleaning the world record every day.

As far as i am concerned everybody does what he thinks is right but i have survived 22 years of lifting and training in many countries. and if heavy pulls are always bad, then my 18th place on the world ranking 2008 is very promising if I start training well :-)

  • Well maybe one should also wonder why the times have changed and Bulgarians are not anymore lifting as much as Ivanov.

Check out videos of Ruth Kassireye deadlifting if you think that no body is doing heavy pulls.

Why is everybody accepting heavy squats but not heavy pulls?

Heavy pulls make you stronger as heavy squats do. BUT it is useless if you miss lifts because of technical mistakes.

So it is much more useful to do technical pulls for most of the lifters.

  • Goegebuer is great. The best weighlifter from Belgium ever!! Be proud of this great athlet.

    Greetings from Germany

  • my neck hurts

  • Ye, this is very impressive, i suppose its ok, i just think its also very important to do fast, powerful pulls as well :D

lol Ivan Ivanov :P - didnt he test positive once?

  • MikeyBurger is right.

The argument that pulls (heavy or not) are okay simply because this guy took first is a weak one. How many people took first before him without doing pulls? If this guy were competing with Ivan Ivanov he would have gotten spanked.

  • he knows what he doing !

i looked @ tv and i have hoped you win , and you do it ! yeah baby ! congratulation

  • haha ye its fine lol just very heavdy for pull, i suppose its great for a range for developing both strength (this video) and power (i.e. lighter faster pulls movements)
