Next up, we introduce you to two men from central Taiwan who were disabled by their illness, but managed to overcome their handicap by finding new purpose in Tzu Chi's service missions. In a moment, we will meet Yu Songquan, who -- despite an inability to use his left limbs -- helps out at the Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital and a local Tzu Chi recycling station. First, though, we meet Lin Long-an(林隆安), from Shengang County. A cerebral palsy sufferer, Lin is disabled and has found it very difficult to find work. Then, two years ago, he joined the ranks of Tzu Chi's environmental volunteers, and rediscovered a long-lost confidence. He even became a media volunteer with the help of a recycled tripod, and will soon join the faith corps training seminar.

---Lin used to be reclusive---
Wearing a mask and gloves, Lin Longan(林隆安) patiently teaches children how to recycle, here at the Fengzhou(豐洲) environmental station in central Taiwan. This volunteer is a little different to his peers, because he has cerebral palsy. Before he joined Tzu Chi he didn't like to leave the house, or even talk.

Tzu Chi volunteer, Lin Longan: I was very reclusive, but after joining Tzu Chi, the volunteers brought me to the environmental station.

Tzu Chi volunteer, Wang Jinfgu: He used to say he wore a grumpy face. But after coming to Tzu Chi, and interacting with us, he found confidence, and now he says he has a happy face.

---tand and band for steady hands---
As well as going from grumpy to happy, Lin has dwarfed his achievements at the environmental station, by becoming a media volunteer. Because his hands shake, he uses an adapted stand with a band around his neck, to keep the camera steady.

Tzu Chi volunteer, Wang Jinfu: Using a recycled camera tripod, we changed it into a single stick, which he plants on the ground for support. Using that helps him film more easily.

Tzu Chi volunteer, Lin Longan: After volunteering for Tzu Chi, I am happier and more confident.

---Defeating troubles---
With his camera, Lin has captured many priceless images for Tzu Chi; and after only just qualifying as a community volunteer, he has already registered for next year's faith corps training. Rather than being troubled by defeat, Lin has defeated his troubles.
