This day was february 20th. 10degrees with the wind chill factor, Winter safety pruning of Red, Black, and White oaks, as well as Tulip Poplars, Beech, and Red maple. This video shows the "anchor hitch" first, then the "Blakes" then the" VT". Eventually the carabiner is attached to the VT at its top end to the micro pulley at its lower end. The VY pulls the micro pulley up, which tends the Blakes hitch. This system is useful when one has to foot ascend for a long distance mid air. Climber doesnt have to advance the Blakes hitch cause the micro pulley does that job.
I find it difficult to tie-in without a saddle on. This must be the benefits of being a daily working climber. Same setup I use minus the V.T.. I just use a 3 wrap prusic and paracord for the micro pulley with a dog snap.

Cold isn't anything. It depends on how you are dressed. I usually sweat outside during Ohios winters. Winter averages 0-20 degrees.
I always had a saying for why I liked winter better than summer. You can always put more clothes on than what you can take off.

I worked in 25degrees this last week and that was cold enough for me. I'm a deep south southern boy who needs time to get use to that kind of cold weather.

That looks painstakingly cold!!. Takes time getting use to I guess.

thanks for the vid, but you boys need to work in some real cold, I just finished a month+ starting most days at -15 to -20, one day it was -30, thats cold. 10 degrees is truly balmy.
