Amen! The whole slew of new alternate tuning, percussive, tapping etc. players influenced by hedges may do some stuff that is flashier, but they cannot and will not write songs with the technique that hedges did. Hedges played that way because that's the only way he could get out those ideas. Everyone else learned to play that way first then tried to write songs.

Yeah, i'm familiar with all those names you listed. Other than some of McKee's songs, I think they are more flash than substance. Their music is something I'd watch but not listen to. On the other hand, I can listen to Hedges' stuff all day.

very good point. these people are all good, but most of them are inspired (at least indirectly) by Hedges.
