1 Corinthians 13:4-8a
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

3 Reasons I Must Watch What I Say?
1. My Words Direct Where I Go
When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. James 3:3-4 (NIV)
2. My Words Can Destroy What I Have
Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. James 3:5b-6 (NIV)

All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. James 3:7-8 (NIV)
3. My Words Display Who I Really Am
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in Gods likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. James 3:9-12 (NIV)
Whats The Problem? My Heart

Jesus saidThe words you speak come from the heart—thats what defiles you. For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. Matthew 15:18-19 (NLT)
Whats The Solution?
1. Get a new heart
"Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Ezekiel 18:31 (NLT)
When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17 (LB)
2. Ask God for help every day.
"Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips. Psalm 141:3 (NASB)
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. Palms 19:14 (NKJV)
3. Think before you speak
T is it Truthful?
H is it Helpful?
I is it Inspirational?
N is it Necessary?
K is it Kind?
My dear brothers, always be willing to listen and slow to speak. Do not become angry easily. Anger will not help you live a good life as God wants. James 1:19-20 (ICB)
