It was under Steve Barri's guidance that Tommy Roe returned to the charts in 1969 with "Jam Up and Jelly Tight" and the delightful "Dizzy". Barri along with P.F. Sloan was instrumental in most of the early Grass Roots success. Sloan-Barri written songs comprised most of the early Grass Roots hits. Steve Barri produced the 1969 album "Dizzy" using horns and the addition of a lush string arrangements. LYRICS: Writers: (boudleaux bryant & felice bryant) The sun is out, the sky is blue There's not a cloud to spoil the view But it's raining Raining in my heart The weatherman says clear today He doesn't know you've gone away And it's raining Raining in my heart Oh,misery, misery What's gonna become of me I tell my blues they mustn't show But soon these tears are bound to flow Cause it's raining, raining in my heart Oh misery, misery What's gonna become of me I tell my blues they mustn't show But soon these tears are bound to flow Cause it's raining, Raining in my heart Yes, it's raining Raining in my heart
Tommy sings this as a dedication to Buddy Holly at his concerts.

@MJTheDJ1964 - thanks Mike. I've never seen Tommy Roe is concert. He has just come out of retirement to perform in Canada for a few concerts. I hope he continues to perform so I can see him perform. I have some of his new ones on my "Tommy Roe" playlist on youtube. He had a CD in 2003 and he released a new song in 2010 called "It's For You, I'm Me. He sent me the audio for this 2010 song and I made a video for it. So far I have 64 videos in the playlist. Take care, Ron
