It was probably inspired in "Shinzo Monogatari". An old japanese romance book, maybe the first romance book at all..

This is probably an interpretation of Kuwabara what has happened through out his life, seeing at 1:09 characters similar to the Toguro brothers and the other. The snow can also mean he's gone to the ice village to get the consent of the elders and parents of Yukina and probably as seen in the end he's in a traditional Japanese house, he must have stayed there with Yukina.
There is too much symbolism was use to create his opening which deepens the mystery of his story which is outright awesome!
