With World Food Day approaching October 16, hundreds of millions of people in the developing world continue to suffer from malnutrition as they face soaring food and fuel prices, drought and poor harvests. Worldwide, the price of staples, such as wheat, flour and cooking oil have tripled and even quadrupled.
The U.N.s Food and Agriculture Organization, which founded World Food Day, estimates the number of people around the globe who are undernourished at 923 million. UNICEF reports that 143 million children under the age of five in the developing world are underweight.
To combat malnutrition, International Medical Corps operates more than 215 supplementary and therapeutic feeding sites in some of the worlds most food-insecure environments, including Afghanistan, Burundi, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia and Uganda.
@DarthVantos Good idea; say that's just the way it is and give up. Throw more food at suffering children. I know it sounds crazy, but I'd like to find a way to minimize the amount of suffering children, not just throw food at the problem and let it go on forever.

I think you had trouble understanding what I said. I said "not only send food" and not "instead of send food". Next thing, right amount of people, no problem. They need to be able to sustain without help. Not "NO people no problem" like you said. So good on you for messing it up and then calling me crazy; shows how mature you are.

yeah, why children? why not let this people without any descendant? oh yeah, because no people = no problem...
so you are saying instead of give 'em food we have to teach 'em how to do not reproduce themselves. you have to consider the option that you are crazy...

people have more children to make up for the high mortality rate. people in the US even did this no less that 200 years ago. its instincts to carry on your species. even turtles have hundreds of babies, knowing most of them will die within days of birth. it sux major but thats natures way of survival. as humans we just try to beat the odds. half a century ago the life expectancy worldwide wasnt even 50, 100 years ago it was barely over 40. now its 65-70.

I think a big problem is people are having children that shouldn't. If you live in a poverty stuck village and you are starving, why would you bring 3 or 4 children into that misery? It just becomes a greater burden. I believe we need to not only send food and medicine, but education about this concept they don't grasp and VOLUNTARY vasectomies. The most humane action is not to bring the innocent into these circumstances.
