Thomas, I am glad that you are another filmmaker who has decided to take the marketing and distribution under your control. I started selling my latest documentary, STRONGHOLD: In the Grip of Wrestling, on both DVD and Pay-Per-View stream immediately when completed. In six months I've already made back, on my own, what I spent in the five years making the film. It's ridiculous to wait for a studio or TV network to decide if your film is worth airing when you know you already have an audience.
Thomas! Loved your video, really inspiring. You are not the first to do this, last year at Sundance with "The Reckoning:The Battle for the International Criminal Court" (in the doc competition) we sold DVDs for $20 at our world premiere and all subsequent screenings and paid for us and 10 crew people to be at Sundance. You want to get the film out right away? Sell DVDs and put it free streams on the internet immediately. I agree, the old theatrical model is OVER.

You are and will be a great producer with your kind of innovative thinking. Good luck with the audiences and the reception at Sundance
