That was the first yr of the th-350 tho the powerglide was offered upto 68/69 models maybe thats why he is confused idk but if he had a 3spd auto more than likely it was a 396 or even of he was lucky one of the last of the 4o9s

@62 harley man if ya take as good look at the console and notice the shift indicators for the trans it is a 2 speed powerglide and the 65 impalas did incorporate them into the vehicles they also came out with four speed manual trannies as well look it up on any chevrolet website or just google the model and it will fill you in on tyhose facts
