This is a video demonstrating the functionality of our IV solution mixing machine. The machine is designed to inject liquid medications into a pre-filled IV bag. The machine is controlled by a MC9S12 microprocessor on a dragon 12 board. The bag is mounted on a carriage and lifted onto the syringes by forks powered by 2 DC motors. The medicine is then injected by stepper motors pushing the plungers of 3 separate syringes. The mechanisms on the project are made out of Legos because of the wide range of parts and gears available.
Very cool JC!
