Obama on Health to joint session of Congress - "We have seen scare tactics" part2

Out of control GOP congressman heckles Obama during health-care speech//// A Republican House member shouted "you lie" during President Barack Obama's health-care speech to Congress on Wednesday, and members of both parties condemned the heckling.

When Obama denied that proposed health-care legislation would provide free health coverage for illegal immigrants, South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson shouted, "You lie!"

Obama paused and looked toward the Republican side of the chamber before
continuing his speech.

After the speech, Republican Sen. John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate defeated by Obama last year, called Wilson's outburst "totally disrespectful" and said he should apologize.

McCain said there was "no place for it in that setting or any other and he should apologize immediately."

Other Republicans also criticized Wilson, along with the expected Democratic condemnation.

"It was crude and disrespectful," said Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, a top Senate Democrat. "I think the person who said it will pay a price."
/////The plan would bar insurance companies from dropping or refusing coverage for a pre-existing condition.

"As soon as I sign this bill, it will be against the law for insurance companies to drop your coverage when you get sick or water it down when you need it most," Obama said.
Because Democrats enjoy majorities in both houses of Congress, Obama could get a plan passed if Democrats vote as a solid block. And while he has said he wants a bipartisan solution, White House officials have said the administration is prepared to push through a plan without Republican support.
Obama also attacked "bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost," addressing the so-called "death panels" and that reforms would insure illegal immigrants.

"And one more misunderstanding I want to clear up -- under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place," he said.

Joe Wilson by calling the president a liar during his address shows that he has no respect for the president, his party and himself. As a member of congress he should have a certain degree of decorum and dignity and his contankerous, meanspirited, holigan and disgusting behaviour shows him up for what he is a tyrant, hatefilled, out of control warmonger. I wish they could impeach his ass and I am definitely going to contribute money to his opponent to throw his ass out of the government.

they get a little more than just affordable insurance..the same way that they don't participate in social security..they have their own plan that insures that they are well beyond comfortable..all the while, my mother and many other parents out there live on $600 a month..wont my country wake up???

@dominoeffect85 I own my own business so Social Security is not for me. Although you are right, social security is crap, but life is like a chess game. You make your moves upon whats available. Alot of people got rich during this so called recession cause they know how to follow the game. The ones who complain are the ones who fail. Things are not as bad as they seem.

Otherwise, you would have never said "The president has no control over what the final outcome of the bill". Ever heard of the pres signing a bill into law? Ever heard of a veto? He has the final say-so! If he was man enough to keep his word, he could have sent it back until it was the way he wanted it. And you call republicans "ignorant"! HILLARIOUS!
