It's a good thing to let the distortion pedal rest every now and then and flex your clean-sound muscles instead. I didn't use a guitar amp for this, just plugged straight into the audio interface of my computer and used a few plug-ins in Cubase: compressor and limiter, stereo delay and a t.c. electronic reverb.

  • Hey Per Nilssen, is this your channel? Nice playing. My favourite Scar Symmetry solo's are from Timewave Zero and Alpha and Omega (but i love all your stuff), Keep up the good shreds!

  • @GrinderDevil

Yes this is my channel! Alpha and Omega, that's mostly symmetrical diminished, love that stuff! Cheers!

  • Per, if you are reading this. have you ever considered being a guitar teacher. i love your style, tone, phrasing and melodies. You are the best thing that's happened to guitar besides IA and Marty in a looooooong time.

    =)

  • @mrbullseye

yes I do teach online, at Bandhappy!

  • @ScarGuitar It would be absolutely awesome to have you play a session at Mattias Eklundhs Freak Guitar camp some year. Ever heard of it?

  • @mrbullseye

Yeah I've heard of it, really cool idea to have a annual guitar camp. I heard Alex Skolnick and Chris Broderick are doing a similar thing in the US?

  • @ScarGuitar HOLY FUCKING SHIT PREPARE FOR GIVING ME LESSONS OH MY FUCKING GOD! :D

  • Nice guitar, and very well played!

  • nice to hear someone take their playing somewhere instead of just mindless shredding!

  • Have you ever studied with Steve Vai? Your style is different than his but you have the same soul for guitar.

  • 1:38-1:50 = astounding

  • You never cease to impress me, Per. You have such a unique style. Incredibly clear and concise playing with challenging technique. Really enjoy watching you play.
