My God... Thank you so much for the background information. I always wondered about mass production in the early days. That means that very early cylinders all had one of a kind recordings. That's amazing... With all of the fascination the public had with these in the early days, I bet some lucky vendors made themselves wealthy with these machines. Did the stylus drag over the cylinder at the end or was that the sound of the machine bringing it back to the beginning?
Nice lecture on the infancy of audio reproduction. The best thing about these machines and recordings is that you can hear music, speech, and sounds made over 100 years ago. An audio time machine!

Nice Machine! Cylinders records are fun to make I have a few recording machines, and blank cylinder moulds for 4" and Napkin rings.
