Pesto Shrimp Linguini Recipe - Delicious Italian Food

Ingredients:

•1/2 pound linguine pasta
•2 tablespoons butter
•4 cloves chopped garlic
•1 cup heavy cream
•1/2 teaspoon white pepper
•1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
•1/4 cup pesto
•1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
•Fresh chopped basil

Preparation:

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water with olive oil to a boil. Add linguine pasta, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in cream, and season with pepper. Cook 6 minutes, stirring constantly.

Stir Parmesan cheese into cream sauce, stirring until mixed. Blend in the pesto, and cook for 3 minutes, until thickened.

Stir in the shrimp, and cook until they turn pink, about 5 minutes. Stir in fresh basil and serve over the hot linguine noodles.

  • Can you use black pepper? I couldn't find white pepper at my local store. From what I read online, they are similar in taste, but white pepper is mostly used in white sauces to keep up appearance more than taste.

  • @mjterifaj

You're right about the appearance aspect but it does have a bit of a difference in taste in food considering it's like a powder and is a bit stronger. Sure you can use black pepper, it's not an appearance issue especially when there's pesto. Have you looked in your market's spice rack or better yet an Asian market?

  • looks great. what was the temp on the skillet?

  • @firethower99

Sautee on medium or just below. The cream will bubble a little, but you don't want it to bubble too much otherwise it will evaporate (if that happens add a little more wine). Melt the parmesan cheese in the bubbling cream and then YUM. This is one of my favorites, enjoy!

  • If I want to serve for 4 how should I double the ingredients without messing up your tasty recipe?!

  • @FashionNirvana

I think that doubling the recipe will be fine, or use two skillets and prepare them at the same time. Thanks for watching.
