I think that going back to the basics is wht everyone should do. If you want to visit the temple...fine. But its not magical. Your individual practice is the ONLY thing...and I have discovered that for myself. You and the Gohonzon..its an individual battle to achieve the Buddha nature. What everyone is ranting about is stuff on the front end. You need to know whats happening on the back end..then it all makes sense. I will say, from my observation, that D. Ikeda has willingly and knowingly created a cult of personality around him. I know that huge sums of money have been used to build luxury homes in the USA for his use,on the Uni campus and other places. It was also done in the Community Center I helped build in Colorado.

I have been living in China for the past 5 years, No organization of any kind here...so its the Gohonzon, the Gosho, and me. From this perspective, I can be neutral since I am truly on the outside. I left NSA..stopped practicing Buddhism altogether for years....and when I came back..was astonished at the changes in the practice. Whatever D. I was first given the opportunity to learn about Buddhism by a priest riding on the same bus in Okinawa. It stopped right in front of the temple there, and he invited me to come in and have a look.
